What a great piece Stephanie. I think people also fail to realize that a forty hour work week is actually a lot more than forty hours when you add in the time it takes you to get ready for work, commute time, an unpaid lunch in the middle of the day, time spent checking emails at home, etc.

I think a lot of people will find that spending 11–12 hours a day on some activity associated with work is not uncommon and it’s absolutely insane that most people seem to accept this as how life needs to be.
